Evangelizing the Muslim World
I just found this on Patrick Madrid's site and it gives me great hope. Please check this out and please keep Fr. Z in your prayers. I had no idea this was happening and I can't think of anyone on earth who needs our prayers more than he does.
Muslims Won't Feel Safe Anymore
I've been watching this development in Europe with great interest. The Swiss have passed a ban on the building of Islamic Minarets in their country. Check out this article on Fox. I thought the most amazing statement was when an Islamic leader said that with this ban in place, Muslims won't feel safe anymore. Hmmm, welcome to our world. I don't know an American who has felt safe since 9/11. But there's a big difference between a ban on a building and blowing strategic buildings and their innocent occupants sky high.

I've Always Loved Incense, but . . .
this is beyond anything I ever imagined. I wonder if Heaven has one of these!

Search And Rescue
“You know, the loss when a soul leaves the Church is incalculable; but great is the rejoicing in Heaven when a sinner repents. You and I need to bring back fallen-away Catholics and to help our Father bring new sheep into His fold. When we do so, we obey His command to make disciples and we show our gratitude to Him for the immeasurable gift of His Church.”

Nuns Robbed
Check this out. Apparently this dude has no idea Who this Nun's Spouse is, or more likely, he just doesn't care. In fact, he probably took some evil pleasure in robbing someone whose very presence in the world represents the Kingdom of God. Either way, as the officer says, if he will rob Nuns in full habit, he will attack any one.
What's funny is that of all people, he goes after two women who have taken a vow of poverty. Just what exactly does he think he's going to find in her purse. After all, she just bought what she needed, I'm figuring he was sadly disappointed with what was left over.
Let's pray for this Nun as she recovers from being targeted and let's pray for this guy that he will have an encounter with the One who really owns the contents of that purse. (I just can't help but smile when I write that!)

Praise For Charged Navy Seals
This one just gets my goat in the worst way. We've got a bunch of Navy Seals who risk their lives to capture a notorious terrorist and deliver him alive and well other than a bloody lip and they're up on charges??? Are you kidding me? A terrorist who would kill you or me without batting an eye and we deliver him to the hands of justice with nothing but a bloody lip and the heroes who did this are off to jail? We must the be most impotent country on the planet. We are literally "tolerating" ourselves to death. These guys should be coming home to ticker tape and marching bands and their getting this. Lord, have mercy on this country.

Kiss It, Make It Better!
“Watch a child. If a little boy falls in the park and scrapes his elbow, he instinctively runs to his father or mother to make it better… More often than not, the parent can do nothing except gently kiss the bruised elbow and tell the little one that it is going to be OK. The amazing thing is that often this is all the child needs. The kiss doesn’t “fix” it; it just lets the little one know that he is loved, he is not alone, and he is going to be OK. Sadly, as we grow up we begin to believe that a little kiss or a mere hug isn’t going to fix anything, so we stop asking… God the Father is inviting you to run to him with your cut elbows, broken heart or shattered dreams. No hurt is too little and none is too great.”
Fr. Dave Pivonka, TOR

I just have to add to this. My two Grandsons do this all the time, but I find it interesting that only certain people can kiss their booboos and make them better. It always depends on whether they trust the person and if they are confident in that person's love for them. Isn't that just like us? When we are confident of God's love for us, we will let Him kiss our booboos and be confident that we will be alright. But the minute we allow ourselves to doubt His goodness, we withdraw from Him and stop taking our hurts to Him. "Perfect love casts out fear."

Kennedy Barred From Communion
Now there's a headline I hoped to see long ago. But I'm still proud of Bishop Tobin for taking a stand in the case of Patrick Kennedy. He's been told to refrain from receiving Holy Communion until he changes his pro-abortion stand. I thank God for every Bishop and Priest who has the courage to take a stand against the immoral tsunami that is trying to take our nation down. Keep them in your prayers and make sure they know they have your support!

And Then There Was Shanyia Davis

I sat at my desk with my mouth open in shock and my stomach threatening to clench like a fist as I viewed the picture of this sweet, innocent little girl, with a look of fear on her face, dangling over the arms of a strange man carrying her to a hotel room to do unthinkable things to her and eventually suffocate the life out of her precious little kindergarten self. What made it all worse was knowing her mother sold her to this guy. Her own mother! And for what price? O, Lord, there isn’t enough money in the world to pay for the life of this sweet little princess. Mothers give their lives for their children; they don’t give their children to pay a debt!
May eternal light shine on her, Lord, and may she rest in peace with you. Let her know that I and thousands of others are heartbroken over what happened to her. Remember your promise that where sin abounds, grace is more abundant.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Isaac Setting Me Straight
No, Nana, it's like this . . .Actually, he was about to put his arms in the air and ask to be picked up, but he looks like he's explaining something to me. I love this little aviator's vest he wears. He will be two next month and I just don't think a little guy can get any cuter. But then I am his Nana.
True Religion
The Church preserves many beliefs and practices that generally are accepted or publicly commanded. Some are taken from written teaching; others have been passed on to us “in a mystery” by the tradition of the apostles. In relation to true religion, both of these have the same force.

Islam Part Of America's Story???
A dear friend of mine sent me this and I thought it was worth of passing on.
OBAMA said in his Cairo speech: "I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America's story."
Dear Mr. Obama:Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed?Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians. Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians. Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?Declaration of Independence? Bill of Rights? Didn't think so.Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England? No.Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own 'half brother,' a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though muslims of Arabic descent refer to black muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage" doesn't it Mr.Obama?Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Notpresent. There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man that is not a direct family member of their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights aren't they?Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazis in killing Jews.
Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the middle east. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims whose asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt, on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America.
And now we can add November 5, 2009.

More Info About Little Matthew
"Dear Patty, if you would share this, on your blog, I would be grateful:
We have a 7 year old child (he will be eight in January)-- a precious young boy, named Matthew, from our church, who has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. They performed surgery, early last week, and removed 99% of the tumor. However, there remains 1% that is on the brain stem which is inoperable. The doctors are giving him another week (this coming) to recuperate from his surgery, and are then beginning chemo and radiation treatments. Our church's priest and parishioners are saying many prayers, but I'm calling out all the prayer warriors that I can, to pray for him--for a complete healing, if it's God's will--and for an abundant and profound outpouring of God's grace, on him and his family (Jim, Diana--Rachel, Jacob, and Abby)--that they may find strength and great comfort in God--and that they will be able to tangibly sense His Presence and Love in the midst of their pain and suffering. There is great love within their family--it's easy to see how they love one another, and how they give to their church and care for others. Please pray for Matthew.
Thank you and God bless you!
Rachel Baer"

Muslim Hypocrisy
Several years ago, I was in a Bible Study class when some Protestant missionaries were giving a presentation of the Muslim perspective on Christianity. We were told that the Muslim world sees all of the United States as a Christian nation. (That was certainly true at one time, but unfortunately the Christians in America know that isn't true anymore.) They see anyone who wears a cross around their neck as a Christian. This includes Madona, who not only wears one but engages in indecent behavior with a crucifix. It includes gang members who wear crosses. Anyone from the US is a representative of Christianity to them.
So they justify their hatred of this country because we are such poor representatives of what it means to be Christian. They make their women cover themselves while our women flaunt themselves. At first I felt ashamed that we were such a sorry excuse for a nation that we brought shame to the name of Christ. I wished I could explain to them that not everyone who calls themselves Christian or that is simply born in the US is truly a Christian. I wanted to explain that Christianity is a change of the heart and mind of a person to conform to the teaching of Christ.
Over a year ago I started this blog. I named it "Abba's Little Girl" because that is who I have come to see myself as. Those of you who have walked through the Out of Darkness series understand why that is. But because the word "Abba" is still the Arabic word for daddy, my blog has become a magnet for people from muslin countries who are searching the Internet for child pornography. So while their women are all covered up for the sake of modesty, their men are on the computer searching for the most vile of all forms of pornography.
Then this last week, when Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan went on his own personal jihad and killed 13 Americans, most of them soldiers, it was also brought to light that he spends an inordinate amount of time in a strip joint near the base. Explain to me how these facts are any different than the shameful facts of our own society? Personally, while I still am ashamed of the moral decay that I see all around me, I am equally disgusted by the moral indecency of the Muslim world. It was just last month that a Muslim father in my area ran down and killed his own daughter and her friend for being too "western." I wonder if his laptop would reveal a breakdown in his own moral fiber? I think it's time that the "religion of peace" stops pointing its fingers and its weapons at America with their moral noses in the air and starts coming to grip with its own dirty laundry.

Death By Toleration
Death By Toleration
I'm starting a new series called "Death By Toleration" that will focus on how I feel this country is going to implode because of our determination to tolerate every form of evil imaginable while telling God to get lost.
Here is a good example of what I mean. There is this double standard that says that anyone of a deviate point of view has the right to flaunt their deviation, but if someone speaks up for morality and Christian virtue, they are instantly an enemy of the State. You know the State, that's the institution that Thomas Jefferson was determined to defend religion from, but ended up being used as the brand name for the institution we insist on asserting over religion.
This guy endured listening to his coworker flaunt her "marriage" to her lesbian girlfriend over and over before he offered his own opinion, which by the way coincides with God's expressed view in scripture and the traditional view since the beginning of time. He finally says what he believes and he gets fired.
My question is: Why hasn't she been fired for expressing her opinion? Didn't she start this by inflicting her views on this gentleman? Didn't she speak first and often before he expressed his first amendment rights? What's good for the goose . . . ? Either fire them both or leave them both alone to express themselves.
This evening on Issues on CNN I saw Velez discussing the sad and tragic situation with the young man who was burned by five other teens because he hadn't paid for a video game. The three main players in this murderous tragidy are being tried as adults. Velez and her panel were going on about how we should be teaching our children the difference between right and wrong before we teach them math and science. I couldn't agree more, but now days we aren't allowed to say what is right and what is wrong. Parent's are obviously not teaching their children morality at home before they enter the classroom, and teachers are told they cannot teach morallity in school. God has permanently suspended from school for trying to tell us what to do and not to do for our own good and wellbeing. So if God's not allowed to say what is good and what is evil, whose the next candidate?

Spiritual Warfare for Souls
“Entrust yourself entirely to God. He is a Father, and a most loving Father at that, who would rather let Heaven and earth collapse than abandon anyone who trusted in Him.”
–St. Paul of the Cross
Patrick Madrid
Search and Rescue, Sophia Institute Press
There are two books I recommend for those who are dealing with family or friends who have either left the Church or are anti-Catholic. Patrick Madrid's book, "Search and Rescue" is a must. You really get to see the spiritual core of Patrick Madrid as he helps you ready your heart and mind to deal with those who have rejected the truth. This is not a "Three Easy Steps to Whomp Your Apologetics Opponents" book. This is a truly spiritual self examination in preparation for the spiritual battle we enter into when we attempt to speak the truth in love to those who so desperately need to know Christ in His Church.
The other book is "Pray and Never Lose Heart" by Sister Ann Shields. Sr. Shields is becoming one of my favorite writers as she also helps her readers pray with the right attitude and with the love of Christ for those who need Christ. These two books together are a powerhouse of spiritual armament for the battle for souls.

Hmmm, How Prophetic
To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

That The World Might Know That The Father Sent The Son
I was eating lunch alone this afternoon and on account of my excellent hearing, I overheard an interesting discussion among a group of Christians who were studying and discussing a book and attempting to apply this book to their own lives and the world around them. That is an admirable goal. If only more folks would be that proactive.
But one gentleman mentioned that perhaps, if the Christian world were united, we would be able to make an impact on the downward moral spiral of our world. Of course, as a Catholic convert, I wanted to stand on my chair and cheer that they were seeing that fact. After all, that is what Jesus prayed before His passion. He wanted us to be one so that the rest of the world would know that the Father had sent the Son. Our oneness would bear witness of the gospel, and our splintered state just as clearly testifies against the gospel.
Then another gentleman spoke up and mentioned the Eucharist. It was obvious that the mention of that Holy word did not impact them the way it does a Catholic. O, Lord, if only they knew You in the Eucharist. If only they knew that as we partake in the One Loaf, Jesus, that we become part of His Body as He intended.
Pray with me for the healing of the Body of Christ and the unity of the Christian world. . . that they might know that the Father sent the Son.
